Nelly White Vocal Coaching

Nelly White is a British musician, vocal performer, and educator with 45 years in music and more than three decades of stage and studio experience. As a recognized Nelly White vocal coach, she specializes in vocal pedagogy and applied neuroscience, coaching singers of all levels through her accredited studio in Antalya, Turkey, while also expanding her reach through international and online teaching.

"I’ve been a musician, vocal performer, and piano player for 45 years, across three continents and in more than 200 five-star venues — from intimate stages to grand productions. I’ve been actively performing on live stages and working in studios for over 30 years, and coaching vocals for a decade, helping singers of all levels build confidence, refine technique, and develop their unique sound. I’m a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, studio session vocalist, performer, vocal producer, and vocal coach with a lifelong passion for both the art and the science of singing.

I hold an ITOL-certified Diploma in Vocal Pedagogy, studying with the world-renowned Dr. Kerrie Obert, and a Diploma in Applied Neuroscience and Voice under Dr. Heidi Moss Eriksson, where I explored cutting-edge research into how the brain controls and influences the singing voice. Combining my Level 4 Diploma in Psychology and Level 3 Diploma in Neurolinguistic Programming with certificates in therapy gives me a holistic understanding of how mindset, behavior, and emotional awareness influence vocal performance.

I trained with ABRSM in classical singing, theory, flute, and piano to Grade 8 level, and also completed Popular Music Vocals to Grade 8 with LCME. I am currently pursuing my LLCM certification with the University of Westminster, further expanding my expertise in performance and vocal pedagogy.

My approach to teaching incorporates many well-known disciplines, with my main focus on how the brain controls the voice — effectively connecting neuroscience with vocal technique to help singers achieve effortless, expressive, and sustainable sound. I draw on years of live and studio experience to give my students practical, industry-ready insight.

I’ve coached singers of many different nationalities and guided multiple students through the LCME examination process, with all of them achieving Distinction. On a professional level, two of my students have earned first-place university placements with full scholarships — one in Opera at Mimar Sinan University (Istanbul) and another in Jazz Vocals at Yaşar University (Izmir).

As a performer, I’ve worked with live orchestras and large and medium-sized ensembles across multiple musical disciplines. I’ve recorded my own full-length album from start to finish, have experience using FL Studio and Logic Pro, and possess extensive knowledge of vocal post-production techniques.

I’ve sung and recorded in many varied styles and trained in classical and operatic technique, providing me with a wide foundation to guide singers across multiple genres. In addition to vocal coaching, I produce vocals in the studio and assist artists with writing, lyrics, melody, and song form - helping them shape ideas into complete, professional-level works.

I was a finalist in the International Shure Songwriting Competition, and a highlight of my music career was performing for King Charles — milestones that reflect the creative range and recognition of my work.

I’ve worked with groups of singers in both choir and small ensemble settings, focusing on harmony, blend, and connection through sound. To share the joy of music education more widely, I established my own free weekly community choir, introducing music and vocal performance to local participants of all ages and backgrounds.

I currently run my own creative space, White Studio Café, which also serves as an LCM-accredited examination centre. It’s a place where music, learning, and community meet, reflecting my belief that creativity grows when people network.

Away from the stage and studio, I am also qualified as a Marketing Professional through the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and a member of MSG (Turkey). I’m fascinated by art, neuroscience, and fitness, and by the endless ways that music connects us to who we really are. I’m a strong supporter of neurodiversity, living with ADHD, Asperger’s, and Dyslexia — experiences that deepen my empathy and shape my inclusive, student-centred approach to teaching and creativity.

I work with singers both in person and online, offering tailored one-to-one training and group coaching. I’m currently developing my own vocal course, which will be available online in the coming months — bringing together the core of my teaching philosophy, neuroscience, and practical vocal application.

My goal is to help people sing with freedom, understand their capabilities, and discover their own voice.

I’m married with four children, three cats, and a dog, and find daily inspiration in the balance between family life and creative work.
